MODPlug Central | Free Music Software | Create 8-bit Music | Tracker, Player, Plugin | MODPlug Central
MODPlug Central is your portal into the Free Music Subculture of the Internet. You can download free music, and learn how to make music on your home computer, and download songs all for free!
Modplug.com could well have been the app for this week, but claims this website space because it offers so much more than the app shown. Sure, there’s the Modplug Tracker, a tool used to create fantastical music straight on your computer with little more than a few synthesised notes, but it takes time, still requires musical talent and is often rather difficult. The Tracker is completely free and runs only on Windows.
The website itself however also offers a library of free music created by people who are actually good at using this tool. There are loads of free songs to pick from, and I immersed myself in the many different tracks I found here when I was younger. A lot of the free digitally created music I enjoyed then and still have today came from this repository of wealth that is Modplug, and so it seems only fair to share it on to you all so you may enjoy from it as well.
