Waze is a free community run GPS and traffic management app owned by Google. It allows you to very quickly see what the traffic situation is in your area, and to see the trouble hotspots around the roads near you.
Not only does the app allow you to plot routes between different places, but it will also offer you multiple different routes, and will work to remember which one is the route you prefer if you travel it often, offering that one as the preferential route next time. It allows the community to state where obstacles and other issues on the roads are, allowing for a community problem map to be built.
And above and beyond that, it offers a fun and friendly environment with silly avatars, points to earn, and the ability to see and communicate with other Wazer’s as you travel. Worth a look to get you to that nearby Tabletop game event, or your local convention centre.
