Geocaching is the real-world treasure hunt that’s happening right now, all around you. There are over 2 million active geocaches, including many hidden right near you, and over 6 million geocachers worldwide.
The act of tracking these down will involve travelling to the area and searching for the cache while keeping your actions hidden from any surrounding “muggles”, to prevent them from finding the cache without knowing the rules. When you find a cache, you write in the log, record your find on the site, and put the cache back for others to find. That’s the basics, and there are many other ways to expand on that!
The app provides access to your Geocaching account, along with showing nearby geocaches using your phones GPS and map functions, and it’s all free.
