Featured Website: Archive of Our Own

Archive of Our Own is a fan-created, fan-run, non-profit, non-commercial and fairly new website (2007) aiming to be a replacement and extension of the very popular and much loved FanFiction.net. It covers a wide range of fanfiction, fanart, fan videos, and podfic, covering a wide range of media, but obviously a lot less than the bigger older site. But being new and shiny, it’s able to provide some features the older site doesn’t.

The biggest and shiniest of the new features is the search and tagging capabilities. There are a far wider selection of options when searching for fics, from different relationship pairing, to custom tags such as major character deaths, so you can quickly and easily find top fics that are related to what you want to read.

The site is invite only for registered users, but browsable by anyone and everyone, so you can go ahead and jump right into reading and searching if you like.
